The Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life is taking place June 11th 2010. This is not only the biggest cancer fundraising event, it provides an opportunity for people of all ages to come together and join the fight against cancer. The Relay for Life is a 12-hour, overnight, non-competitive event that involves teams of people taking turns walking or running around a track. The event begins with the “Survivors' Victory Lap”, where cancer survivors kick-off the event by walking an inspirational first lap. This event also involves a “Luminary Ceremony” at dusk, luminaries are lit to pay tribute to loved ones and provide inspiration to participants.
