grande prairie scarecrow festival

Taking place at Revolution Place’s Bowes Event Centre, the Grande Prairie Sunrise Rotary Club’s annual Scarecrow Festival is a great excuse to have some fun while raising much-needed funds for some local and international charitable causes. Here are four reasons why we’re excited…

1. Because We Love a Shindig!
Who doesn’t love a good shindig? And this year’s Scarecrow Festival kicks off with a dinner, dance and auction ‘Shindig’ on the evening of Friday, October 19. This is the best way to be the first to see the amazing scarecrow creations, garden sculptures and original acrylic paintings. There’ll also be a fabulous dinner and music by the Chris Buck Band.

2. Because We Love Beer!
Saturday, October 20 sees the Rotary Club’s ‘Fest-of-Ale, a premier craft beer-tasting event with plenty of amazing appetizers to nibble on and local musicians to listen to. There will also be a silent auction.

3. Because We Love Family!
The Scarecrow Festival winds up on Sunday, October 21st with a little something for everyone: a Family Fun Day. You can expect plenty of community spirit, games, activities, a bouncy castle, face painting and – of course –fun for every member of the family.

4. Because We Love a Great Deal!
Stanford Inn & Suites in Grande Prairie has some amazing offers running until the end of October. Stay one night in an Executive Suite and you can enjoy the property’s famous baked lasagna and a glass of wine for $189 (based on two people sharing).

Alternatively, stay in the Presidential Jacuzzi Suite for $299 and you’ll receive a dinner voucher worth $60 and a breakfast voucher worth $25 too. This deal is based on two people sharing.
