This summer, the streets of Grande Prairie spring to life from July 18-20 with an exciting array of jugglers, acrobats, musicians, installation artists, face painters, and many other entertainers from around the world.  This is a free community event but remember, street performers will be passing around hats for donations, so bring along your loonies, toonies and five dollar bills to support these artists who make their living bringing you joy!  And of course, don’t forget to apply sunscreen!
This year’s entertainment line-up is extensive, drawing in over 20 multi-talented performance artists from across Canada and around the world.  There are an incredible number of talented artists at this festival, but here are a few to give a taste of what to expect.  A full line up of performers is available on the festival’s website.

Dana Smith

Dana Smith’s entertainment is an explosive mix of circus arts, comedy, improv and audience participation.  Dana is eclectic, blending seemingly unrelated elements into a coherent or not so coherent show that delights.  Chinese rhythm sticks, hat tricks and ukulele are to be expected in this pleasantly idiosyncratic show.  His work never fails to surprise and amuse.

Jason Kodie

Jason is a sound artist hailing from Edmonton who performs an exciting range of characters.  Lately, he has been reincarnated as the quirky Mellifluous Mr. Bombo and his roving piano.  Rumour has it that he will be making an appearance in Grande Prairie this summer...

Pogo Fred

Prepare to be amazed by the fantastically agile Pogo Fred as he jumps over 7 feet into the air, performing flips, tricks and stunts on his 10-foot tall pogo stick.  Fred holds a few Guinness World Records and is one of the founders of the sport of Extreme Pogo.
