February is a great month for families in Grande Prairie, AB, and this year is no exception!

On Thursday, Feb 13th join the Backyardigans on their live tour across Canada right here at the Grande Prairie Crystal Centre.  Kids will love the hilarious and musical adventures of Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, Uniqua and Austin in this popular Canadian show.   If your kids are a bit too old for the Backyardigans, you can send them to the Youth Open Night for a free pizza making session at the Eastlink Centre Cooking Classroom.

Come down to the Eastlink Centre on February 15th for the Family Dance in the Evergreen Energy room.  For just $10/person (only $5 for kids!) you and your family can swing to the tunes of a live DJ, treat yourself at the candy bar, compete for prizes and more!

On February 17th, head over to the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion for their unique Family Day Celebration.  There will be sleigh rides, snowshoeing, skating and sledding for those who want to celebrate outdoors.  For a bit of a warmer day, there will also be indoor family entertainment, lunch at the concession, and a variety of family activities.  Also running on February 17th is Family History Day, which consists of an afternoon of workshops about researching and chronicling your genealogy.  The event includes on site genealogists, a trade show, live demonstrations, software, scrapbooking, and much more!  Family History Day takes place at the Golden Age Centre.  For the most interaction, bring a family item, photograph, or document you wish to preserve.

Not in town for any of these events?  Not to worry!  There’s still plenty of fun for all ages this month in Grande Prairie.  You wont’ want to miss some of the best AJHL action by checking out the Grande Prairie Storm hockey team.  No matter which activity you’re planning during your stay, you can always have a great meal at the on site Delmonica’s Restaurant and a great night’s sleep in on of our great Grande Prairie hotel rooms.
