Fall has arrived, and that means it’s time to get outdoors and savour the last nice weather of the season. Luckily, Grande Prairie provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy the fall and Halloween season. From getting lost in a corn maze or walking through the local farmers’ market to getting seriously spooked at Hornbrook Hollow, check out the top three ways to celebrate fall in Grande Prairie this year.

Grande Prairie Corn Maze

The Grande Prairie Corn Maze is back in town this fall. This family-friendly event is just $5 per person and will have you making your way through a traditional corn maze. Food, including burgers, mini donuts, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, and cold drinks, will be available on-site. All proceeds from the October event are being donated to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association.

Hornbrook Hollow Haunt

Just 21 minutes south of Grande Prairie lies the neighbouring town of Grovedale, home to Hornbrook Hollow. Each year, this outdoor attraction hosts their annual Haunt and 2020 is no different. This COVID-friendly, socially distanced event is not for the faint of heart. This year’s event includes a haunted Scare Maze that is completely in the dark, a Night Time Chicken Run, and a kid-friendly Day Time Chicken Run, where no scare actors or props will be used. This is definitely the best way to celebrate Halloween around Grande Prairie.

Grande Prairie Farmers’ Market

Enjoy fresh produce, home cooked food, fresh cut flowers, and more at the Grande Prairie Farmers’ Market. This outdoor market is open all month long on Fridays from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. In the past, they have hosted special Halloween celebrations, such as live music and safe trick or treating. Although their Halloween schedule is yet to be released, you can bet they will have something festive going on.

If you plan on visiting Grande Prairie, Alberta this fall, then you’ll want to book a room at the Stanford Inn & Suites Grande Prairie. A short distance from some of the best autumn and Halloween attractions in the area, we combine top-notch accommodation and family-friendly amenities with a convenient location.
